The prosecution rested its case in the Rocco Zuccaro trial Thursday afternoon. The defense will start its case at 8:30 Friday morning and expected to wrap up before the afternoon.
The trial began Monday and has seen its fair share of witnesses called to the stand, including officers and neighbors. Today, two officers who handled the murder investigation back in February 2013 were called to the stand. Much of today’s testimony centered around Zuccaro’s car.
Officers say they found a back pack, tested several parts of the car for gun shot residue and located fingerprints belonging to Zuccaro’s on the car doors. Zuccaro’s attorney Michael Nogay said it shouldn’t be shocking for Zuccaro’s fingerprints to be on his own car.
The court expects jury deliberations and a verdict tomorrow afternoon or evening.
