Report of Shots Fired Results in Traffic Accident in Steubenville

Police responded to a report of an accident with possible shots fired Thursday night, Jan. 29 at 5th and Washington Streets.

Authorities said a car was traveling on Washington Street about 4:30 p.m. when suddenly another car drover over the center line in the intersection, hitting the other vehicle and continued driving.

That car, police said, was found on Union Avenue with numerous bullet holes in the drivers side door. Officers said they found spent shell casings at the intersection of 5th and Washington Streets.

The driver of that car, Cartell Jordan, said he was driving on Washington Street when someone he did not know began firing shots at his car. He told police he fled the area to get away from them and was not aware he had hit another car.

Jordan was cited for Hit and Skip.

Police continue their search for the suspect or suspects who fired the shots.
