The sound of motorcycle engines could be heard for miles Saturday as the Brothers of the Wheel hosted their annual Child Abuse Awareness Ride for Harmony House.

About 100 bikers were registered for Saturday’s ride, which started at the Bethlehem Harley Davidson shop and ended at the V-F-W in Moundsville. Last year, the event raised about $16,000 for Harmony House, an organization that hits home for many of the brothers.

“The Brothers of the Wheel, all of us or some of us have used Harmony House at one time or another as our family. So, we have chosen this as a benefit. We started out in 2004, and 2005 we started with Harmony House, so this will be our 12th year,” said Hippie, a member of the Brother of the Wheel.

The Brothers were joined by several other motorcycle clubs. They also held a silent auction to benefit Harmony House.
