Wheeling Hospital and Reynolds Memorial Hospital announced an affiliation that will bring advanced special medical care to RMH and the Marshall County area.
The collaboration between the hospitals will create a Specialty Care Clinic at RMH. It will open the first week of December. Wheeling Hospital will provide its specialists in the areas of cancer care, cardiothoracic surgery, colorectal surgery and gastroenterology.
“We are excited that this collaboration will provide much needed services in Marshall County and the surrounding area. As a smaller facility, we were limited with respect to certain specialty care areas. But with the addition of the wide variety of high-quality specialty care found at Wheeling Hospital, our residents will now have the same care close to home,” said Dr. David Hess, medical staff president at RMH.
Wheeling Hospitals Chief Executive Officer Ron Violi added, “We’re pleased we could develop this affiliation with Reynolds Memorial Hospital. Over the years, Reynolds has earned the reputation as a quality hospital that has been a vital part of the Marshall County community. This collaboration will help the hospital better serve its patients by keeping their care nearby, avoiding the burden and expense of traveling elsewhere for specialty care.”
