Road Closed After Flames Tore Through an Ohio County Home

It was a busy Monday for several fire crews including Stone Church, Triadelphia, and Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department after flames erupted inside a home.

The flames were first spotted around 4pm inside a home on 42 Memory Lane along Stone Church Road.

One person was inside when the flames broke out near the lower garage portion of the home.

The man, whose name was not released, was inside and tried to extinguish the flames.

He was overcome with smoke inhalation and minor burns and was taken to Wheeling Hospital to be treated.

As firefighters were working to extinguish the flames, the roof of the home reportedly collapsed, but that wasn’t the only issue for firefighters.

A water line break on Stone Church Road caused some issues as crews struggled to access nearby fire hydrants.

A portion of Stone Church Road was closed while crews fought the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
