Runners and walkers filled the streets of St. Clairsville today at the Samuel A. Mumley Classic 5K.

The St. Clairsville Sunrise Rotary, along with title sponsor Wheeling Hospital, hosted the event which pays tribute to the late Samuel A. Mumley, longtime Rotarian and true advocate for the youth of the Ohio Valley.

Since the beginning of the event, the proceeds from the Mumley 5K have provide more than 40 scholarships to St. Clairsville High School students in honor of Sam’s wish to “do it for the kids.”

Despite high heat and humidity, 122 people participated. Wheeling Hospital gave iced towels to each participant at the finish line.
