The Schiffler Cancer Center of Wheeling Hospital has been ranked nationally for their patient safety and medical excellence for the second year in a row.
No other hospital in Eastern Ohio or the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia earned this rating.
The Schiffler Cancer Center got the highest possible rating in both–patient safety and medical excellence.
A press conference was held Tuesday to share the news from the findings of CareChex in their Quality Awards and Eligibility Requirement Report.
Doctors say this award comes as no surprise, because they take great pride in the care they provide their patients who are fighting a tough battle.
“This is the most skilled group of people I have ever been with they have unbelievable dedication to what they do and to be able to have the confidence of our community to provide care in very extremely difficult time of peoples lives is something we take to heart,” said Dr. Gregory Merrick.
“Community level care at home as long as its equivalent as good as a university hospital that’s where you should be doing it its always better that’s what we are drive to do at the Schiffler Cancer center. Nobody does it like we do,” said Radiation Oncologist Jondavid Pollock.
While they take pride in serving their community, the Schiffler Cancer Center has treated people from 42 states and 17 foreign countries.
