Search Continues for Dog Warden in Jefferson County

The search continues to find a dog warden in Jefferson County.

Bill Bell, the former dog warden, was fired in September after he allegedly hit a pit bull in the head with a shovel.

Commissioners have advertised the dog warden position for about two weeks and have received around a dozen applications. They have been reviewing the applications and coming up with a pool of people to interview.

Commissioner Thomas Gentile said it will be a few weeks before a final decision is made. Employees at the Jefferson County Animal Shelter are working overtime to deal with the current situation.
