Senator Gentile Recognized for Working for Veterans

Our District 30 Ohio State Senator is being recognized for the work he is doing in the legislature to increase job and education opportunities for veterans.  Thursday afternoon, Senator Lou Gentile was given a letter of recognition by the Jefferson County Veterans Service Commission.  He says that the idea for one of  the passed bills to help members of the military, came to him after he was approached at a Memorial Day parade by a veteran.

“It’s the interaction I have here in the district with the people I represent that really helps shape my legislative agenda. I really appreciate being given this recognition by the Veterans Service Commission. They do great work here locally and throughout the entire district that I represent in helping veterans with the benefits they earn and deserve,” Gentile said.

Commissioner of the Jefferson County Veterans Service Commission Bill Demjam applauds Gentiles work on Senate Bills 13 and 18.

Demjam added, “Some (veterans) are interested in going further as far as their education is concerned. They’re also seeking job opportunities, and Lou has been there for them and getting them and trying all he can to get them those benefits and some of the jobs as well.”

Denjam also wants people to know that if you are veteran in need or the family member of a one in need, you can call the Jefferson County Veterans Service Commission at 740-283-8571 and they will assist you.
