Several Honored as Difference Makers in Children’s Lives in Ohio County

The 2016 Deborah Doleski Allen Champion of Children Awards were held Friday afternoon to honor those in Ohio County who have made a difference in a child’s life.

Each year the community nominates people for 3 different categories–Community Member, Early Childhood, and Social Service Honoree.

The Partners in Prevention Team does this year each as a way to focus on the positive impact people have made in helping children live a happy and healthy life.

This year the award went to Sgt. Don Miller, Linda Reeves, and Janet Kowalski.

“Working with children and families is just part of me its just part of who I am it’s a passion I have and its very rewarding when I can assist a child or family that’s in need,” said Linda Reeves.

“The love that we give them when they have a very difficult row to hoe winning this award is just one of the most special things that’s ever happened in my life,” said Janet Kowalski

“It’s all about safety today and making sure that our kids have a safe healthy place to learn and that’s the most important thing right now,” said Sgt. Don Miller

April is Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month.
