The work week is coming to a close, but Mother Nature has other ideas before the weekend starts.

On Friday evening a flood watch was issued for communities across the Ohio Valley.

For days rain poured in areas already soaked from earlier thunderstorms.

Emergency Management officials are also on alert, looking for any problematic areas with flooding, but they need your help.

Belmont County EMA Director Dave Ivan told WTRF.com, “If you see a problem call 9-1-1. That does two things. One, it gets the fire department there, also they make notification to this office. Then we spring into action.”

Ivan recommends keeping a close eye on any creeks and streams in your neighborhood, especially if they’re nearing their banks.
