Shadyside Man Arrested After Crashing Truck Into Utility Pole

Bellaire Police arrested a Shadyside man after he crashed a pickup truck into a utility pole and was found with drug abuse instruments.

According to Bellaire Police, Matthew Alan Pielech, 25 was arrested after he crashed a pickup truck he was driving into a utility pole at the intersection of 38th and Noble Streets around noon on Friday. Police say Pielech was arrested for driving under suspension, failure to control, and was found to have drug abuse instruments in his possession.

He was transported to the Belmont County Jail.

Bellaire Police were assisted by the Bridgeport Police Department and the Bellaire VFD.

There were no injuries reported and AEP was notified as the utility pole was damaged.

The investigation is continuing.
