Unbeaten Shadyside used a strong second half to secure 20-7 victory over Bellaire at Fleming Field.
The Big Reds held a 7-6 halftime lead thanks to a Brandon Laughman 1-yard touchdown run. Shadyside’s Eric Howell gave the Tigers a 6-0 lead in the opening quarter.
Shadyside came out of halftime and quarterback Austin Dorris connected with Luke Nardo for a 46-yard touchdown to give the Tigers a 14-7 lead. Dorris, the Indiana recruit, added a 27-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter to complete the scoring. Dorris ran for 94 yards and passed for 112.
Brooke Breyer was named the Shadyside Homecoming Queen at halftime.
The victory was Shadyside’s 26th straight in the regular season. The Tigers hit the road for three straight games starting next Friday at Shenandoah.
Bellaire (1-2) visits Edison (0-3) next Friday night.
