Sheriff: Two Dead in Belmont County Shooting



The Belmont County Corner left the scene around 3:00 am Tuesday.  No further updates on the victim’s names or whether there is a suspect have been released.


Sheriff Dave Lucas said two people are dead following a shooting at a home on Garrett Hill Road in Belmont County on Monday evening.

Deputies and officers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene, and called in the major crime scene unit and Ohio BCI. 

The incident remains under investigation and the identities of the victims and shooter are not being released.

A shooting incident occurred on Monday night, according to Belmont County officials. 

The incident happened around 7 p.m. in the Glencoe area. Police are not releasing many details as of 9 p.m. Monday, but unofficial reports indicate there are two victims. The identities of the people involved are not being released.

Police are also not releasing any information about a possible suspect in the case.
