The message is simple: Don’t Drink and Drive.
We hear it often in commercials and we see it on billboards, but one police department took things a step further this weekend, when they posted a heartbreaking photo of a slain troopers daughter to show the impact of drunk driving.
In the photo the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office in Canon City, Colorado posted on its Facebook page Sunday, the troopers daughter could be seen wearing her mother’s trooper hat following her mom’s death after being hit by a drunk driver.
The caption read:
“For anyone who is planning on just having a “few beers” and driving home after, look at this little girl. She will grow up without her Mother, Colorado State Patrol Trooper Jamie Jursevics, who was hit by a drunk driver and killed last week. Is it worth it?”
The photo has been shared nearly 4,000 times as of Monday morning.
