Steubenville Historians Taking a Closer Look at the Constitution

As part of Constitution Week, the Historic Fort Steuben Visitor Center has set up an exhibit called “Celebrate the Constitution.

During the week of September 17th to the 23rd, the exhibit will have a copy of the constitution, information on the document itself and the people who signed it, as well as a movie depicting the lively proceedings of the 1787 Constitutional Convention.

Executive Director, Judy Bratten, says this is a great opportunity for people to learn more about the document.

“It’s also very important especially during presidential elections or even now certain issues that are being discussed to understand why these are issues and why they are important,” added Bratten.

People who visit the exhibit are encouraged to sign the document that will be part of the Fort’s history.

The exhibit is sponsored by Historic Fort Steuben and the Fort Steuben Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
