Students in Ohio County will head back to school on Monday morning.
On Sunday, local elementary schools held an open house for students to get comfortable in the classroom and the hallways before the school bell rings.
Woodsdale School Principal Kim Miller said the school was very excited for the meet and greet.
“We provide them with the opportunity to come in the school, meet their teachers, get a lay of the land and everybody gets excited about coming to school tomorrow,” Miller said.
“We’re excited to meet our students and begin a new school year,” Superintendent Dr. Dianna Vargo said.
Similar open houses were also held Sunday at the other elementary schools.
The first day of school for Ohio County students in grades one through 12 is Monday, while kindergarten begins on Thursday, August 20.
Students at Bishop Donahue, Corpus Christi, Madonna High School, St. Paul Catholic and Wetzel County also head back to the classroom on Monday morning.
