Suspended WVU Cornerback Charged With Battery, Surrenders to Morgantown Police

The Morgantown Police Department has arrested suspended West Virginia University cornerback Daryl Worley.

Worley, 19, of Philadelphia, is accused of grabbing a woman by her neck with both hands and pushing her to the ground.  Worley was physically removed from the woman by other people who were present, said Morgantown Police.

When officers arrived to Wall Street at approximately 1:14 a.m. Sunday, they encountered a woman who was extremely upset and crying.  The woman told police she had been assaulted while inside Lux Bar.  Other people at the scene were interviewed by police and identified other possible witnesses, said police.

Worley turned himself in to Morgantown Police Wednesday afternoon and is charged with battery.  He was arraigned and released in lieu of bail.

Worley was suspended indefinitely from the team Monday night for a violation of team rules.
