Earlier this week, we brought you a special report on how you can better talk to your kids when it comes to tough topics.

Every day kids are flooded with images of drugs, violence and adult-themed topics at a younger and younger age.

With platforms like social media, constant news coverage and friends that may know more than your child, questions you aren’t ready for may come up.

One issue continuing to spark a lot of conversation is the interview with Bruce Jenner where he revealed he is transgender.

“We think by sometimes withholding information that that’s the safer bet, but we know that that’s now true,” Clinical Psychologist Dr. Patricia Bailey says. “So for example if we’re talking about somebody like Bruce Jenner, who knew at a very early age that something wasn’t quite right, but he couldn’t put his finger on it at the time, those feelings don’t go away because no one is talking about it, just the same as if somebody is gay being able to talk about it an open forum is very important.”
