She passed away suddenly last year but Cynthia Rose Phillipson is still helping students at Steubenville Catholic Central High School.

Cynthia’s Golf Outing tee’d off Saturday at Cadiz Country Club in Harrison County with around 20 groups of golfers taking the course.

The money raised from today’s outing plus a Chinese Auction in the clubhouse will go towards two scholarships at Steubenville Catholic Central, one for an incoming freshman and one for a graduating senior.

“It’s not just raising money it’s also about having a good time”. Cynthia’s Father, Todd Phillipson, says. Cynthia was about being very positive and having a good time and we have t-shirts that say ‘If you can’t say something positive just be quiet’ it was something she would always say.”

Cynthia passed away in November of 2014 while at basketball practice for Steubenville Catholic Central after collapsing during one of the workouts.
