The Madness Begins, So Will OSU Survive?

 The madness has begun.

The NCAA Tournament officially tipped off Thursday afternoon and there’s already a few upsets and more are definitely on the way. One of those upsets many are hoping for; the Ohio State Buckeyes against Virginia Commonwealth.

The Buckeyes have had an up and down season so far, there’s hope they’ll hit their stride against the Rams from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ohio State has been led this by freshman phenom D’Angelo Russell and high flyer Sam “Slam” Thompson as they try to beat the Havoc defense run by Shaka Smart and the VCU Rams. Even though the game is about 2,500 miles away from Columbus, hundreds of Buckeye fans have made the trip to Portland, Oregon and thousands more have been waiting anxiously for days.

“As a graduate of Ohio State, it’s always an honor to get into the tournament, to get into the Big Dance,” said Toronto native Jim Dawson. “I just hope they go a long way and get at least into the Sweet 16.”

“Gotta root for the Big-O you know what I mean? Have to do it,” said OSU fan Louis Craig of Wintersville.
