A popular Wheeling restaurant is moving to a new location right in the heart of downtown.
The Vagabond Kitchen used to be located inside the McLure Hotel, but owner Matt Welsch says he decided to move for more visibility.
The restaurant will now be located right across the street from the hotel, on the corner of 12th and Market Streets.
Welsch says the restaurant will now be able to sell alcohol, and will still feature its popular menu items.
“Hand crafted food, first and foremost. You’ll see some more orthodox menu items, as well as some more challenging and exploratory things: some things that I’ve seen on my travels that I want to bring home, some types of fusion food, some different kinds of ethnic food. But, at the end of the day, it’s just going to be good, solid food,” said Welsch.
Welsch says he is hoping to have the restaurant fully up and running in about a month or two.
