Three Killed in Belmont County Recreational Jeep Accident

UPDATE:

Route 7 is open again following a fatal accident Saturday. Belmont County Sheriff Dave Lucas says three people were killed in that accident. Officials with the sheriff’s department say Timothy Zugaro, 46, of New Albany, Ohio; Donald Buff, 45, of Powhatan, and Dave Boltz, 41, passed away after the accident. 

As of 1:30 p.m. Sunday, the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office didn’t anticipate further details about what caused the accident to be released until at least Monday.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Route 7 near Powhatan Point is closed while crews work to clean up the scene of a fatal accident.

Officials tell WTRF.com and 7News; multiple people went over a steep embankment in a recreational jeep and there were fatalities. 

Right now officials are not releasing the names or ages of those involved.

Route 7 is shut down from Pipe Creek to the Powhatan line.
