Three people were severely injured in an accident on John Scott Highway in Steubenville on Thursday evening.
The accident happened around 6:00 p.m. and involved three vehicles.
Two teenagers were flown to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, and a woman was flown to UPMC Presbyterian. Police said the woman driver was trapped inside of her vehicle.
The heavily-traveled roadway was shut down for about two hours while crews were cleaning up the accident and investigating.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said they believe the crash is speed-related, but they are continuing their investigation.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this accident and their families and we will continue to support them and all of our students through this difficult time,” said superintendent T.C. Chappelear.
