Three-Way Stop Installed in Dangerous Cadiz Intersection

In order to make a busy intersection in Harrison County safer, authorities have installed a three-way stop, and they are hoping to get the word out to drivers before they have to start writing tickets.

A stop sign has been put in place on Industrial Road, off of U.S. 22, where it intersects with Grant Street in Cadiz. Police Chief Ryan McCann said the intersection at Industrial Park Road and Grant Street sees a lot of commercial traffic, and can be dangerous.

McCann said a lot of accidents are caused by vehicles turning left in that area. “We’ve had several crashes so hopefully it will help eliminate some of the crashes out here that haven’t been really bad, but the time was coming that we would’ve had a bad one if it stayed that way.”

McCann said traffic is still continuous for drivers coming from Route 9 to U.S. 22 onto Industrial Park. McCann said officers will give at least a month of warnings to drivers, especially commercial traffic, before they start to hand out tickets.
