Two men were sentenced in federal court on Wednesday on child pornography charges.
Bernie George Baier, 51, of Wheeling was sentenced to ten years in prison for possession of child pornography. Baier reportedly obtained a wireless internet password from his neighbor, according to an investigation. He then used the neighbor’s wireless internet connection to download images of child pornography in late 2014.
Baier was previously convicted in 1995 of a felony offense of gross sexual imposition in Belmont County. In March, he pled guilty to his recent possession of child pornography charge.
In a separate case, Alex J. Galensky, 32, of Martins Ferry, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. In May 2014, it was discovered that Galensky possessed child pornography involving a minor under the age of 12.
In February, he plead guilty to possession of child pornography.
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided.
