U.S. Senator From Ohio Wants to Close Gun Law Loophole

A U.S. Senator from Ohio is working on legislation to close loopholes in our visa laws to prevent potential terrorist from sneaking into the United States.

There are more than 30 countries, which are US allies, that you can travel from and get into the country with just a passport.

Because of ISIS‘s global outreach, Senator Sherrod Brown wants to close that loophole, and start to require visas for all non-US citizens to enter the country.

He also wants lawmakers to stand up to gun lobbyists and close loopholes in our gun laws.

“If you’re on a terrorism watch list or a no fly list, you’re suspected of being a terrorist, you can go to a gun show in Wheeling or go to a gun store in Bellaire, and you can buy an assault weapon. Nobody that’s accused of terrorism should ever be allowed to buy an assault weapon or any other gun in the country ever. And we’ve got to close that loophole,”  said Sen. Sherrod Brown.

Brown adds that lawmakers need to be more worried about standing up to those lobbyists rather than refugees that are trying to seek asylum in the country.
