UPDATE: Judge Declares Mistrial in Attempted Murder Trial

UPDATE: A mistrial was called in the Kevin O’Brien case after not enough jurors could be found to hear the case. There were six no shows in court Tuesday morning. O’Brien is facing charges of attempted murder and malicious assault in an incident that allegedly took place last September. His former live-in girlfriend claims he punched stomped and choked her until she lost consciousness.

The jurors will have to come and explain why they were not in court. O’Brien’s trial will be rescheduled in September.


ORIGINAL STORY:

Jury selection is set to begin Tuesday morning for a man charged with the attempted murder and malicious assault of his girlfriend.

Kevin O’Brien is scheduled to be in Judge Sims’ courtroom at 9 am.

The incident happened nearly a year ago, back in September when O’Brien’s live in girlfriend claims he punched stomped and choked her until she lost consciousness.
