The St. Clairsville post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal accident that occurred on Thursday evening on State Route 78 in Monroe County.
At approximately 5:28 p.m., troopers say Johnathan Broemsen,39, of Lewisville, Ohio, was traveling east on State Route 78 when he drove off the right side of the road, lost control, crossed the center line and struck a westbound vehicle. Broemsen, who was not wearing his seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to Wetzel County Hospital with minor injuries. He has since been treated and released.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Monroe County Coroner’s office are investigating the case. Troopers say alcohol is considered to be a factor.
