Kristyn Fetcko, a counselor at Ritchie Elementary School, was relived of her duties on Monday night after a unanimous 5-0 vote by school board members.
Fetcko pleaded guilty to distributing Oxycodone earlier this year. Ohio County Board of Education President Shane Mallett said the issue is something the board, the teachers and staff and the community all take very seriously. He also said the board was not able to take action until the legal process had concluded.
In a federal complaint made earlier this year, a DEA agent testified that an informant contacted Fetcko to purchase Oxycodone pills at her Webster Avenue home in Wheeling. According to the report, the informant had previously bought pills from Fetcko in January of this year.
The report stated that when the informant arrived at the residence and made the request for the pills, the informant asked, “10 of them’s $350, right?” Fetcko allegedly replied, “Yeah,” while shaking her head in an affirmative manner. When the informant said, “are you sure?” Fetcko allegedly responded “100 percent.”
The report then stated Fetcko’s companion retrieved the pills and gave them to the informant for $350.
