11/24 UPDATE:

As of 5:00 am Monday, the young girl flown to the hospital is alive but in very serious condition.  That’s according to

Randy Williams, Medical Legal Death Investigator at the Monroe County Coroner’s Office.

The girl is in a Morgantown Hospital. More details are expected later Monday morning.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department is working on a case involving a shooting that happened at 2:45 Sunday afternoon.

Sheriff Charles Black said it was in the Marr area of the county, on Township Road 565 off of State Route 260. He said one elderly man is dead, and a juvenile female had to be flown to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

Black said there is a rumor floating around the county that it is a hunting-related accident, due to a two-day youth only hunt, but that is not the case.

No other information is being released at this time, but Black said his department will release more information on Monday.
