The 16-year-old boy who escaped from the Lincoln Detention Center was found by Bridgeport police and is now in custody.

Officer Mike Duplaga noticed a young man walking around the village around noon Tuesday, he said the boy was barefoot and had cut, bleeding feet. After questioning the boy, Duplaga discovered he was the escaped teen.

He was in the custody of the West Virginia State Police Tuesday evening.

Wheeling Police are looking for a juvenile who escaped after jumping a fence at the Lincoln Detention Center on Monday evening around 5 p.m.

State officials have asked 7News to no longer report the boy’s name because of his age.

The male escapee is from Shinnston, West Virginia.  He has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, green T-shirt, Khakis and tennis shoes.

Wheeling Police are currently looking for him in the East Wheeling area.
