The YWCA and the Ohio Valley Black Heritage Committee teamed up for their second Multicultural Festival on Saturday at Wheeling Heritage Port.
The YWCA had been holding similar culture events at their building but they were so popular that they would run out of space so they brought it to the waterfront last year.
Now they’re hoping the Multicultural Festival can let people go around and experience and understand the world without having to leave Wheeling.
“Well, you have your Greek Festivals, your Italian Festivals and we wanted them all to come together and see that it takes all of us to make this Ohio Valley great,” Chairman William Brooks says.
Some of the exhibits featured how to translate your name into another languages, the different musical instruments from around the world, dancing demonstrations including Latin and Belly Dancing and of course all the tasty food from the different cultures, too.
