US 22 Reopened After Multi-vehicle Accident


UPDATE: 12:00 P.M.   

US Route 22 is back open now after a serious three vehicle accident near Piedmont, Ohio hours ago.

UPDATE 11:03 A.M.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers responded to a three vehicle accident on US 22, near Piedmont, Ohio, this morning.  A Ford F150 went left of center and struck a Harrison Hills school bus, bounced off the bus and struck a second vehicle traveling behind the bus.  Troopers say that 5 people were taken to area hospitals, three, with non-life threatening injuries. Two were flown by medical helicopter, one to Wheeling, the other to Pittsburgh.  No students were on the bus at the time of the accident.


US 22 is closed in both directions for a multi-vehicle accident between SR 800 & Campbell Rd, according to the ODOT Eastern Ohio.

Ohio State Highway Patrol is responding to the accident which happened just around 6:00 a.m. Friday morning.

OSHP says the accident involves two vehicles and a school bus. As of 7:30 a.m. dispatch had no further details on whether there are any injuries.

Drivers should use an alternate route.
