US Senator Shelley Moore Capito has introduced new legislation to help combat the growing opioid problem nationwide. The legislation is aimed at preventing over-prescribing pain medication and will lower the drug supply.
Senator Capito says right now, many people have many unused opioid drugs leftover, and that is the worst possible thing for someone who becomes addicted to the drug.
“We’re trying to look at a spectrum of solutions, and I think getting the medications out of the medicine cabinet is one way we can attack this problem,” said Senator Capito.
Senator Capito went on to say that she is proud that both parties are coming together to try and create a drug-free America.
