Vagabond Chef Works on Blended Burger Project

The Vagabond Chef is working on a new creation to hopefully share with the biggest names in culinary arts.

Matt Welsch is working with the James Beard Foundation’s Blended Burger Project. If his blended burger is voted the best in the country he will win a trip to New York to prepare his burger with the culinary arts foundation. But what is in this blended burger, and why is it so special?

“It is an initiative put on by the James Beard Foundation to create a more sustainable and healthy burger. By definition it is 25% mushroom, and we are calling the healthiness of it in to question a little bit as another 25% is bacon,” said Welsch.

The other half of the burger is ground beef. Welsch says he will be selling the burger all weekend at Arts Fest, as well as at the State Cellar for a few months.
