In Ohio, Republican incumbent Governor John Kasich is running against Democrat Ed Fitzgerald.
In West Virginia, the race to fill Jay Rockefeller’s seat in the U.S. Senate is highly contested. Republican Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito and Democratic Secretary of State Natalie Tennant are looking to fill the spot. The two met for a debate in mid-October.
Closer to home, a West Virginia Senate race is taking place between Ryan Ferns and Rocky Fitzsimmons. The race between the two has heated up in the past few weeks.
More than 102,000 people cast their ballots early in West Virginia. Over the past eight statewide elections, almost 20 percent of the votes cast were in the early election period.
