The debate on the confederate flag continues across the country, on whether it should be taken down or not.
On Friday, a man and a women were arrested for taking matters into their own hands and removing the flag from flying at the Statehouse in Columbia, South Carolina. According to CBS News, the two were both freed on three thousand dollars bond.
Local and state lawmakers have also been speaking out about the heated debate.
“I’ve long thought the confederate flag should be taken down, while it’s yes part of our history we are one country,” Tennant says. “We are the United States of America under the United States Flag and you have your own freedom of speech to wave that flag where you like, but it shouldn’t be waved and forced on us by a government whether its South Carolina government or United States government.”
The flag has been a controversial topic since a white man entered a church service in Charleston and killed 9 African Americans last week.
