Washington County Sheriff’s Office searching for man considered armed and dangerous


After an incident where shots were fired Wednesday morning, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a man who they consider armed and dangerous.

Around 11:00 a.m. Ryan Michael Shumake allegedly fired shots at 40 Hills Bridge Road in Washington County, OH. According to the Sheriff’s office, Shumake fired a total of 3 shots at his father’s vehicle. The father was able to escape and called 911. Washington County Sheriff‘s Office was dispatched to the scene.

Shumake is carrying a black backpack on him with a gun inside. Police believe it is a Glock. He is considered to be armed and dangerous. Officers from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office advise that no one should approach the man because he is considered to be armed and dangerous.

The area officers are searching runs in a triangle. It starts at County Road 9 and Bells Run Road. It includes County Road 9 and Jett Hill Road along with State Route 26 and State Route 333

Shumake is approximately 5 feet 6 inches in height and 230 pounds. He is 37 years of age. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt.
