The Washington Wild Things and Rebellion, a women’s pro-softball team, have plenty summer events planned for families.

The Rebellion will open their season on Friday, May 29. The organization is looking to involve the Ohio Valley even more in 2015. Every Wednesday at Consol Energy Park, is “Wild and Wonderful Wednesday,” which means anyone who shows West Virginia identification will get a discount on tickets.

“You’re critical to what we do. We want you to feel like we are your home town team too, because we are so close to each other and it just makes sense,” said Chris Blaine, the Director of Marketing and Communications. “That’s one of the reasons we are focusing back in this market.”

Pirates fans can look forward to June 4, when Kent Tekulve will be at the park signing autographs and the first 1,000 fans will receive a “Teke” bobble head.

June 6 is “Wheeling Night”, and for every $10 ticket purchased, $5 will go to Wheeling Health Right. The first 1,000 fans in the park will receive a rally towel.
