Weirton Police Arrest Two on Heroin Trafficking Charges

Weirton Police arrested two people on Thursday, who they say have been trafficking heroin into the area.

Police took Larry Jordan, 29, of Chicago and Terri Bailey, of Indiana into custody after receiving information about someone making numerous trips to the area of 3106 Orchard Street and dropping off significant quantities of heroin to a person living there for distribution.

Police set up surveillance around the building and parking lot, and when police saw a car drive up with the Jordan in side, he attempted to run away as officers approached him. While he was running across the street, he tripped over the curb, and a bag of drugs fell on to the pavement.

Officers recovered nine individual bags of heroin weighing between five and six grams.

Jordan is charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, transporting into the state with intent to distribute heroin and fleeing on foot.

Bailey was driving the vehicle. She had a warrant out of Indiana, and is charged with conspiracy to transport heroin into the state. Police say more charges are coming.

They are scheduled to appear in magistrate court at 9 a.m. Friday.
