West Liberty University and The Good Zoo at Oglebay Resort are joining forces to offer biology majors a new and innovative degree path for those interested in zoo careers.

This new degree program will allow students to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology to be prepared to work in the field of zoo and aquarium management.

This partnership puts West Liberty and Oglebay among only four schools across the nation to offer such a program.

“It’s one more way that the park system can continue to collaborate throughout the Ohio Valley,” said Stephen Hilliard, the President and C.E.O. of Oglebay Resort.

Dr. Joe Greathouse, Assistant Professor of Biology at West Liberty University added, “”What’s unique about our program is we are going to be associated with the Good Zoo, so the students that participate in this program are going to get more hands-on experience with the animals, than probably any program in the country.”

The program will kick off in the Spring and students who are interest in the program can still register for classes by visiting www.westliberty.edu.
