As the budget battle continues in Charleston, the state is spending hundreds of thousands of your dollars to fix it.
On Friday the House approved a State Budget 61-37. Now goes to the Senate and will have to be approved next week.
But some staggering numbers when it comes to what this special session has already cost taxpayers across the state. Each day lawmakers are in session, it costs the state $35,000.
So far, we’ve seen 10 days of the special session. That means taxpayers will shell out at least $350,000.
Because the Senate must come back to review the bill and vote, they’ll be there most of next week, raising the cost tag to nearly half-a-million dollars.
