Recent wet weather has people in one Wheeling neighborhood concerned.

Those living on the 1900 block of Decatur Avenue in Wheeling have had several trees fall close to their homes, narrowly missing them.

One of those trees fell over Monday night, making it the third in the past week or so.

One resident says her family has lived in that neighborhood since 1969 and says this sort of thing simply hasn’t happened.

“We have natural springs all in our backyard, so the ground’s usually always wet.  But, like I said, we’ve never had falling trees before to my knowledge,” said Terri Reed, a Decatur Ave. resident.

Reed said her neighbor’s tree ended up on her property. Although he has told her he would get rid of it, it was still there on Tuesday.
