Wheeling Central Back In State Championship Game


The Wheeling Central Maroon Knights have advanced back to the Class A state championship game with their 62-53 win over Williamstown. 

Chase Harler, named the state player of the year earlier in the day, led Central with 28 points. 

Brian Campbell scored 13 and Trenton Smith added 11.The Maroon Knights are now 24-3 , two of those loses where to Magnolia. 

The Knights and Blue Eagles will meet for the fourth time this season in the state championship game, Saturday at Noon. 

Wheeling Central’s one win in the series this season was a 93-73 score, while Magnolia beat the Maroon Knights by scores of 74-63 and 80-74, in the sectional championship game.
