Wheeling Man Facing Felony Charges After Tense Situation

A Wheeling man is now facing felony charges stemming from a domestic dispute involving his live-in girlfriend.

According to a criminal complaint, 45-year-old Sheldon Wayne Hancher punched his girlfriend in the head and face early Monday morning.

The complaint also said Hancher went for a loaded muzzle loader and placed it to her chest, threatening to kill her.

When Ohio County Sheriff Deputies arrived on scene he was detained while they searched for the gun.

Hancher was later booked into the Northern Region Jail for Felony Wanton Endangerment.

The female victim was taken to Wheeling Hospital.
