A Wheeling man facing felony daytime burglary charges was arraigned on Tuesday.
Police arrested Dondie Lee Williams, 35, after his former girlfriend reported to them that Williams kicked in the front door of her home, started yelling at her, broke her TV and punched holes in the wall.
The victim also said Williams threw her phone against the wall so she could not call the police. She told police Williams allegedly choked her, scratched her face and threw her down the stairs. Police noted in the criminal complaint they could see a scratch on the left side of the victim’s face and on her right wrist.
She also told police Williams would not leave her home until he was certain the police were not responding there. The incident happened on July 10, but Williams was arrested Tuesday.
Williams was arraigned by Magistrate Joe Roxby and taken to the Northern Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond. He was able to post bond and was released.
