Wheeling man sentenced to 12.5 years in prison for heroin trafficking


A Wheeling man has been sentenced to more than 12-years in prison for his role in trafficking heroin in the Ohio Valley.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II announced Tyrell Askerneese, 37, was sentenced to 151 months in prison on Monday.

Ihlenfeld says Askerneese sold heroin in May 2014 in Ohio County.

Askerneese entered a guilty plea in August 2015 to one count of “Aiding and Abetting the Distribution of Heroin.”
