Wheeling Mom Concerned After Two Men Approached Her Daughter on Walk Home from Work

A Woodsdale mom said she wants to get the word out about two suspicious men who approached her daughter while she was walking him from work.

Kathi Leonard said her daughter was walking home from her job in Woodsdale on Tuesday night when a car started to slowly follow her. The incident happened on Edgwood Street, a block or two away from Edgington Lane.

Two men approached the 18-year-old in their car and started asking her questions, like what her name was. They encouraged the girl to party with them and get in the car.

Kathi said her daughter, who has a different last name, was very shaken by the incident. While she is 18, Kathi said her daughter looks much younger. She claimed the men kept taunting her.

The men said their names were Ryan and Josh. Ryan is described as wearing a fisherman’s cap, and he had dark hair. Josh had red hair and was driving the vehicle. The men asked the girl for her phone number, which she did not give them.

At one point, one of the men got out of the car, but when another car pulled up behind them, they got scared and took off.

Kathi said she wants everyone in the neighborhood to be aware of the situation and report anything suspicious to the Wheeling Police Department.
