Wheeling Police Department is Recruiting New Officers


The Wheeling Police Department is looking to expand the police force.

They will begin accepting applications on Monday for those interested in becoming a police officer.

They are looking for young professionals with a strong sense of community to help curb crime in the friendly city.

“We are obviously looking for community minded folks,” Wheeling Police Chief Shawn Schwertfeger said. “Folks that are well educated, folks that are committed, professional, have a high degree of integrity,just quality individuals and there are many out there and we’re hoping to attract them to our police department.”

A written police test as well as physical fitness tests will be conducted on April 11th, 2015 at Wheeling Jesuit University.
